I want to applaud Mr. Millender’s anti-Clear Channel stance and wish him all the luck in the world with 92.1 The Thunder. But while he is right to point out that Bryan-College Station radio has gone from terrible to truly wretched in the past few years, I have to question the integrity of someone who would start a (presumably) hard rock radio station and choose to play Rush and not Tool. I’m pretty sure 99.5 already plays more than enough Rush. And really, any Rush at all is more than enough. You complain that the bands that pass for hard rock these days are too sissified, yet Rush, the musical heroes of middle-aged white dorks worldwide, is somehow worthy of your play list. Play Pantera and Slayer. Play Soundgarden and Alice in Chains. Just please don’t play Rush.
