I was very disappointed to see that my presentation had been misrepresented yesterday. Your story begins:
“‘The population in College Station is likely to rise to approximately 51,707,489 by the year 2040, and the city is not equipped to handle such an impact,’ said planner Kelly Templin.”
In fact, I state that Dr. Steven Murdock, the state demographer with the Texas State Data Center projected this number as the 2040 population of Texas – not College Station. That was very clearly stated and the source was verbally and visually referenced.
I have fended off some pretty aggressive and incredulous callers this morning. I have had to tell them that the gaff lies completely at the feet of your reporter, Stuart Womack.
