While Campus Carry will not go into effect until next academic year, the Campus Carry Task Force established by University President Michael Young is seeking input from A&M faculty and students in the form of a survey.
Under Senate Bill 11, commonly referred to as Campus Carry, concealed handgun license holders can carry concealed handguns on public university campuses starting Aug. 1, 2016. However, The law allows for gun-free zones as defined by the university.
A survey on the matter was sent to faculty and students Tuesday via their Texas A&M email address and closes at 11:59 p.m. Nov. 9. The survey asks free-response questions about what factors A&M should consider when implementing Campus Carry.
