Mr. Stahl speaks of bombing one of the biggest Middle-eastern countries in the world as if he were merely playing a ‘Command and Conquer’ game with cheat codes. Sure, just bomb their military and government facilities, and all is well in the world. I’d like to remind him that three years, 38,000 dead Iraqi civilians, and 2,400 dead American soldiers later, Iraq is at its worst state ever, with no solution in sight. The pre-emptive war that was supposed to ‘rid the world’ of a threat has only encouraged more and more youths to submit to fanatical groups in response to the aggressor – America.
It is easy to justify outright aggression by calling it ‘defensive.’ How, might I ask, is bombing a nation that is insisting from day one that it is using its nuclear technology for peaceful purposes only, called ‘a defensive attack?’
War with Iran would be a disaster
