The Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences came together with the Texas A&M University System and Texas A&M University administrators on Wednesday to hold a groundbreaking ceremony in honor of the beginning of the construction for the Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences Education Complex.

Sharp said the funding for the project came from the Permanent University Fund, a trust that was created in the Texas Constitution of 1876 as a public endowment to fund the maintenance of the campuses of public Texas universities.

The addition of the new facilities with the latest in technology and paired with the beautiful setting will complement the education process and foster even greater potential for learning and leadership opportunities,” Karkula said.
The groundbreaking of the new complex was followed in succession with the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the Thomas G. Hildebrand, DVM ’56 Equine Complex, a project started in November of 2012 meant to be one of the top equine science education and research complexes in the world.
