The Big Event Web site states: “The Big Event is a one day service project, which provides the students of Texas A&M an opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to the surrounding community for their continued support.” Why do we have such an event when the “surrounding community” has nothing but contempt for the students that bring money and growth to Bryan-College Station? In response to the ordinance, I propose canceling Big Event and any other community service projects in the Bryan area.
