Former president George H. W. Bush was released today from Houston Methodist Hospital after being admitted Jan. 18 to be treated for pneumonia.
After spending the initial stage of his hospitalization in the Intensive Care Unit, Bush was moved to a regular hospital room for recovery Jan. 23.
In a statement released today, Bush family spokesman Jim McGrath announced Bush’s discharge and said the former president was grateful for the care and kind wishes he received throughout the duration of his stay.
“He is thankful for the many prayers and kind messages he received during his stay, as well as the world-class care that both his doctors and nurses provided,” McGrath said.
