Upon reading the article concerning the development of a glow-in-the-dark thong, I’m not quite sure which part I should be most disturbed by: That bright young men would actually think it a good use of their time to develop such a travesty of an invention, or that there is actually a market for such an absurd contraption.
Am I the only person who thinks that there is something wrong with attention coming in the form of a $40 price tag and a battery pack? When the self-esteem of American women is so low that they need to resort to light-up lingerie to be noticed, it feels as if women’s liberation never even happened! Ladies, have more respect for yourselves than to adorn your bodies like walking neon billboards. The only way we can expect to be treated as anything more than sex objects is to refuse to present ourselves as such.
