After a loss in its first game of the season, coed intramural basketball team 210 is set to bounce back Sunday, Feb. 18 at 10:45 p.m. against Big Buckets at the Student Rec Center.

In a competitive nailbiter, 210 ultimately fell 77-76 in overtime to division opponent Second Baptist in the opening round of play. Big Buckets also dropped its season-opener 58-45 against All Starts.

Playing with cohesion and chemistry, the three women and two men starters for 210 went back and forth with Second Baptist, with both teams trading baskets and runs.

The Fall 2023 intramural basketball season ended in late October, so the first game of the new season helps teams reacclimate, according to a team member.

“It was a good game back after a long break from playing,” communication sophomore and 210 team captain Maya Sanders said.

All teams in the intramural coed competitive league compete in end-of-season playoffs as long as they play at least one regular season game and maintain a good sportsmanship standing, according to Intramural League rules.

Playoffs are split in two brackets based on win percentage, which makes every regular season game significant for teams aiming to compete against the best of the best in playoffs.
