According to an article in Wednesday’s Battalion, city planner Kelly Templin reports that the population of College Station will rise to “approximately 51,707,489 by the year 2040,” and that planning must take place to accommodate this “drastic” increase.
Drastic indeed. Who knew that our hamlet of a college town would grow in size to dwarf the populations of Bombay, Moscow, Mexico City, Seoul and Tokyo combined in just thirty-five short years? Sadly, I roam those Elysian Fields no longer, but for you who remain, your task is great: birth a population roughly twice that of Texas in two generations. To those who are about to procreate, I salute you.
