The fourth annual Armadillo Dash will begin at 7 a.m. Sunday. The event includes a half marathon and a 5K, beginning and ending in Veteran’s Park and Athletic Complex in College Station. Registration forms are available at the Hyatt Place hotel in College Station, online or at Veteran’s Park from 6 to 6:30 a.m. Sunday. The race is sponsored by BMI Defense Systems and proceeds benefit Scotty’s House: Child Advocacy Center of the Brazos Valley and Still Creek Boys and Girls Ranch. With more than 1,000 participants, last year’s race raised $25,000 for the two charities. Students said they are running in the event to support the causes as well as to have a good time. “I’m going to be running the 5K,” said Aneesa Castaneda, sophomore construction science major. “It’s not only a good cause, but I’m also going to train up to a marathon. This is just another way to run for a good cause and it’s also fun.”
