Aggies travel to Kansas to face Jayhawks

After winning back-to-back games against Oklahoma State University and Kansas University, the Texas A&M women’s basketball team hits the road on Wednesday to take on No. 20 Kansas State University.
The Aggies (11-3, 2-2 Big 12) are a team with young talent this season. Freshman Morenike Atunrase leads freshmen in the Big 12 in blocks and is second overall in the same category. Three-time Big 12 Rookie of the Week freshman forward Patrice Reado ranks third in the league in field goal accuracy at 55.7 percent.
The Jayhawks (12-3, 3-1) are sitting on a 20-game winning streak at home against conference opponents that they will look to defend. The offense ranks second in the conference in free throw accuracy, shooting 73.1 from the charity stripe. K-State is led by Kendra Wecker who has made her last 18 straight shots from the free throw line and Laurie Koehn who has made her last 14. Twiggy McIntyre is another standout on the team, shooting 78.6 percent from the free-throw line.
The game is set for 7 p.m. at the Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan, Kan.
