A&M track and field finishes fourth, seventh

The Texas A&M track and field team competed in Houston Saturday and took home three gold medals in the field events. The Aggie men finished in fourth place overall, while the women finished seventh.All of A&M’s gold medals came from the men’s side in the weight throw, shot put and pole vault.
A&M senior Ronny Jimenez finished first in the shot put with a distance of 50-0.75, while junior Jamie Riojas came out with silver throwing 53-8.25
A&M senior Josh Ralston received gold in the weight throw with a 53-0.25 mark, while junior Justin Sutton cleared 16-6.75 in the pole vault, giving him the win. Freshman Dusty Williams placed second with 16-0.75
A&M senior Jon Peschel finished eighth in the 60-meter hurdles, and sophomore Michael Thompson finished seventh in the 60-meter dash.
The Aggies will be in action again next weekend as they travel to the Bayou Bengal Invitational in Baton Rouge, La.
