Bail has been set at $8,000 for the student arrested for issuing a threat to the Texas A&M campus via Yik Yak, according to Lt. Allan Baron of the University Police Department.
The student, identified as Christopher Louis Bolanos-Garza, was arrested Tuesday and remains in jail as of Thursday morning.
After receiving calls about a post on the anonymous social media site Yik Yak threatening the campus Tuesday, the University Police Department obtained an emergency subpoena requesting identifying information from Yik Yak. The police were then able to trace the post back to Garza, mathematics freshman.
Because the investigation is ongoing, UPD will not release specific details of the case at this time.
