The Texas A&M Board of Regents will hold an open session Thursday to hear a presentation given by Raymund Paredes, Texas commissioner of higher education, and to discuss several items.
The Board will consider authorizing a ground lease of approximately 11 acres of land on the A&M campus for the, “development of a hotel/conference center, parking garage and student services building,” according to an A&M System press release.
The Board will also vote on whether to approve an internal audit plan for the 2016 fiscal year and whether to adopt a resolution honoring Catherine Smock, outgoing chief auditor of the A&M System, for her service.
The meeting will take place 8:30 a.m. in the Bethancourt Grand Ballroom.
