The lurid story of “Chicago,” featuring Roxie Hart, Billy Flynn, and Velma Kelly is filled with music, drama and violence. The two-act is set in the prohibition era. The main concept is “celebrity criminals,” most of these celebrities being women.
Roxie and Velma both want to be in the limelight and they don’t care who they hurt or what they have to do to get there, creating a bitter rivalry. Eventually, the two realize that they can’t count on anyone but themselves.
