Sixty-two percent of the ballots cast in the Student Government Association’s latest referendum were in opposition of the establishment of a $20 per semester student advising fee.
The referendum, which received 5,798 votes by the 5 p.m. Tuesday deadline, gauges student opinion on the “Undergraduate Student Advising Fee” proposed by university administration. The fee would only apply to freshmen enrolled in Fall 2016 and to students who have exceeded their allotted degree plan time.
The results of the referendum will be presented to The Board of Regents before they vote to approve or disapprove the fee during its Nov. 12-13 meetings.
