Lt. Allan Baron of the Texas A&M University Police Department said in an email statement Friday evening that the exact cause of death is still unconfirmed, although authorities believe Taylor ingested sodium cyanide.
“The precise cause of his death is pending,” Baron said in the statement. “A police investigation is ongoing, including awaiting results of toxicology reports.”
