The Battalion wins awards, accolades at national conference

The Battalion editorial staff checked into their hotel for the Fall National College Media Convention in Atlanta on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023.

First-place prizes, honorable mentions and in-depth critiques.

From Oct. 29 through Nov. 1, The Battalion took part in an annual conference packed with award ceremonies and educational sessions. The conference was hosted by the Associated Collegiate Press, or ACP, and the College Media Association, or CMA, in Atlanta.

The Battalion’s editorial staff sat in on sessions taught by industry professionals from publications such as The New York Times and industry advocacy groups like the Student Press Law Center. The conference days ended with the award ceremonies where college publications from around the country gathered for individual and overall honors.

The Battalion submitted entries for the ACP Pacemakers, CMA Pinnacles and Conference Best of Show, given for content submitted at the conference, and these were the results:
