Earlier this semester there was a debate as to whether the tradition of “Howdy” was being disrupted by iPods. The problem of technology affecting some of our most valued traditions is a spreading problem. Tuesday, as well as every other ceremony this year, Silver Taps was interrupted by a cell phone ring. Fellow Aggies, I beg you to respect one of this school’s most important traditions by at least silencing your phone. There is nothing more important then honoring these fallen Aggies, and a cell phone ringing not only interrupts the student body’s remembrance, but also the family’s. If you were to die today, we’d be honoring you the first Tuesday of May and I know your memory, and your family, would be insulted by a tacky ringtone.
