Guest Contribution Submissions
Thank you for your interest in submitting a guest contribution to The Battalion. Guest contributions can be submitted by anyone no matter your affiliation, or lack thereof, with Texas A&M University. Guest contributions for the opinion section cover a wide variety of topics.
Articles will go under review of the editorial staff. The opinion editors have jurisdiction to accept or reject submitted articles. Articles can be rejected, but not necessarily because of the opinion in and of itself. Reasons include, but are not limited to stylistic issues, poor-quality writing, grammatical errors, structural issues, sourcing or argumentation.
All opinion contributions will need to be submitted through the google form to be reviewed by the editorial staff. Contributions sent to the editor-in-chief, managing editor or opinion editor emails will NOT be considered. Follow-up emails after submitting through the link provided should be sent to the following:
If you wish to remain anonymous in your application, please list N/A for “name” and list it in the “additional comments” section at the end of the form.
Editors may ask that articles be refined or revised for a wide variety of reasons. If the piece still does not meet expectations upon its second submission, it will no longer be considered for publication.
All article submissions must follow AP style guidelines. If the article is accepted, editors will edit for AP style and send the revised version back to you and await for confirmation prior to publishing on the website.
