Junior second baseman Michael Helman had two hits and two runs against the Hoosiers.

The Texas A&M Aggies beat the Indiana Hoosiers 10-3 in Game 1 of the Austin Regional of the NCAA Tournament Friday afternoon. With the Aggie putting up seven runs in the fourth-inning the Hoosiers were unable to recuperate. The Aggies will face the victors of the Texas vs. Texas Southern game at 6 P.M. on Saturday.

  • Sophomore shortstop Braden Shewmake had one hit and one run in his five at bats.

  • Sophomore Logan Foster led the Aggies with 3 hits.

  • Junior pitcher Stephen Kolek threw 32 pitches in two innings for the Aggies.

  • After being slid into by a base runner junior second baseman Michael Helman is helped up by sophomore shortstop Braden Shewmake.

  • Junior second baseman Michael Helman is tended to by training staff after being cut during a putout. 

  • Junior pinch hitter Chandler Morris had one run and one hit in his two at bats against Indiana.

  • Freshman center fielder Zach DeLoach led the Aggies against the Hoosiers with 3 RBI.

  • Junior first baseman Michael Helman had two putouts and one assist in today’s game.

  • Junior pitcher Stephen Kolek stepped on the mound in the seventh-inning to relieve sophomore John Doxakis.

  • Freshman pitcher Christian Roa finished the game for the Aggies in the ninth-inning with a total of 14 pitches.

  • Although the Aggies were in Longhorn territory, the bubbles were still present after the 10-3 victory against the Hoosiers.

  • Coach Rob Childress is currently in his 13th year as the Texas A&M Baseball Head Coach and has led the Aggies to 12 consecutive Regional appearances.

  • The Aggie Baseball Team breaks their huddle and prepare to face the winner of Game 2.
