After a six hour rain delay the championship game that was originally set to begin at 1:30 p.m. had a first pitch at 7:30 p.m.

The Fightin’ Texas Aggie Softball Team will head to Gainesville, Florida after beating the Baylor Bears 10-4. The Bears were first on the scoreboard but the Aggies did not let that phase them. In the fifth-inning the Aggie offense scored seven runs after a reversed call at first base. The Bears went on to score another run but could not recover.

  • The grounds crew added a conditioner to the infield after the downpours that occurred throughout most of the day.

  • Senior Tori Vidales is initially called out at first base but the call is then overturned by the umpire at home plate and she is ruled safe. This was the turning point for the Aggies.

  • Senior Erica Russell and Junior Keeli Milligan have a rally duel in the dugout.

  • Senior Erica Russell led the team in RBI after her base clearing double.

  • Senior Kristen Cuyos shouts after sliding safely into home plate and adding to the the Texas A&M lead over Baylor.

  • Senior first baseman Tori Vidales helped sophomore pitcher Payton McBride clean the dirt out of her cleats.

  • Senior pitcher Trinity Harrington began pitching for the Aggies in the bottom of the fifth-inning.

  • When the bottom of the ninth-inning rolled around the Texas A&M dugout started to get more excited with every out.

  • Senior pitcher Trinity Harrington finished the evening with a 1.76 era.

  • Senior pitcher Trinity Harrington and senior catcher Ashley Walters hug after winning the Regional Championship on a three pitch strikeout.

  • The 2017-2018 Texas A&M Softball Team sang the Aggie War Hymn together in the Davis Diamond one last time. The Aggie will play the Florida Gators in the Gainesville Super Regional.
