It was a time of mourning for Charles Boswell as he had just heard of the death of his stepson who had been taken off life support the Saturday before Easter Sunday.
That afternoon, in a moment of affliction, “I found myself wanting to feel the sea foam on my body and walked ankle deep out in to the cold blue waters of the Pacific Ocean,” he said. Charles had been visiting a friend in Monterey Bay, Calif., when he received the news. He proceeded to plunge in at the break of the waves without knowing there was a sharp drop off from the ledge of sand. The ocean took him in where the fight for his own life began.
