Texas A&M has been ranked No.1 in the state for the second consecutive year. According to The Wall Street Journal rankings, Rice University is second and the University of Texas at Austin follows further down the list.
For the 2025 release of the Best Colleges in the U.S., editors of WSJ collaborated with College Pulse, placing A&M as No. 1 in the state and No. 28 overall.
An email statement by Chancellor John Sharp also references A&M Engineering’s No. 1 spot with $444.7 million in research spending, passing the Massachusetts Institute of Technology regarding research expenditures, according to U.S. News & World Report earlier this summer.
