2017 student body president candidates were notified tonight that the winner of this year’s election would not be announced in front of the Sul Ross statue in Academic plaza tonight.
It was made clear by Election Commissioner Rachel Keathley that the winner of the campaign would not be announced because a candidate in the race, who had a high number of votes, had been disqualified prior to the polls closing.
This year’s candidates were Kilian Bresnahan, Bobby Brooks, Ben Ikwuagwu and Robert McIntosh. Members of the election commission and candidates in attendance were unable to comment.
