On Monday, Sept. 16, Kendall Jenner visited College Station, bringing her 818 Tequila to the heart of Aggieland. The reality TV star and entrepreneur visited several popular Northgate bars, including Shiner Park and Good Bull Icehouse, where she engaged with students, made and served drinks using her tequila, distributed free merchandise and signed memorabilia.
Jenner’s visit was part of a promotional effort for her tequila brand, 818 Tequila. Launched in 2021, 818 Tequila claims to reflect Jenner’s commitment to crafting a premium spirit, using organic agave and environmentally responsible methods. The brand’s name pays homage to her hometown’s area code, Calabasas, California.
As Jenner made her rounds, she surprised students with complimentary 818 Tequila hats, which she personalized with her signature. The event created a buzz among the Texas A&M community, as hundreds of students and locals flocked to see and interact with the celebrity. Graduate Hannah Smith attended the event at Good Bull, where she got to interact with the star.
“[Kendall] is my favorite,” Smith said. “She’s gorgeous … I love 818 Tequila.”
Jenner’s 818 Tequila has quickly become a popular choice among tequila enthusiasts, promoted by its smooth flavor and dedication to eco-friendly practices. The brand has established itself as a premium option in the competitive spirits market, benefiting from Jenner’s star power and hands-on involvement in its development. Some students expressed their love for the brand itself. Chemical engineering senior Blaine Bowman saw Jenner at several bars across Northgate.
“[818 Tequila] has brought me some of the best friends, best connections and best nights of my life,” Bowman said. “I had the best day of my life!”
By personally engaging with fans and sharing her brand’s values, Jenner made an effort to make students’ interaction a memorable one.
“I spent the day with some of my closest friends,” Bowman said.
The event also highlighted the intersection of pop and student culture showcasing how high-profile figures like Jenner can meaningfully engage with younger audiences. The excitement surrounding Jenner’s visit reflects the strong connection between her brand and its consumers, further solidifying 818 Tequila’s place in the market. The visit underscored the growing trend of celebrities bridging the gap between entertainment and business.
“She is very wholesome,” Bowman said. “I can’t believe I got to see her in real life.”
