Congressman Michael McCaul gave a lecture on the importance of homeland security Tuesday at the George Bush Presidential Library.
McCaul said the topic is particularly important given the groups such as the Islamic State group and the threat of an Ebola pandemic.
During his stay, McCaul also toured the National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center, the Center for Innovation in Advanced Development and Manufacturing, and the Institute for Infectious Animal Diseases.
“Ambassador Crocker and I have been friends for a long time, and he said I was long overdue for a visit to this campus,” McCaul said. “I think considering the circumstances with the emergence of the Ebola virus in Dallas, this visit to the facilities was very timely, especially the Institute for Infectious Animal Diseases.”
