UPD investigates early morning campus death

According to a Texas A&M University Police press release, UPD officers and medical personnel discovered a deceased person between the Mitchell Physics Building and the street early this morning around 6 a.m. The officers were responding to a report of an unknown medical emergency on University Drive next to the physics building.
Preliminary investigations indicate the person fell from the sixth floor balcony of the physics building.
George Boyett, justice of the peace for Brazos County Precinct 3, has ordered an autopsy.
The investigation is ongoing, and no name has been released at this time.
