Yell practice to be held at E. King Gill

While the Aggie football team practices at Kyle Field Thursday, a yell practice will be held just outside the stadium.
The away game yell practice is intended to drum up support for Saturday’s game against Alabama in Tuscaloosa and will take place at 7 p.m. at the E. King Gill statue in the northeast plaza.
“We hold it earlier since it’s a little easier on everyone’s schedule,” said Roy May, senior yell leader. “The band is out there and the Corps comes out.”
May said holding a yell practice is a great way for students to stay fired up for events on campus during away-game weekends.
“It’s good to get fired up while [the football team] is up in Tuscaloosa,” May said. “You know, we have other sports going on here in Aggieland over the weekend. We’re right in the thick of soccer and volleyball.”
May said he looks forward to returning to Tuscaloosa.
“Last time we went to Alabama, we won,” May said. “So if we do it a second time, it will be tradition.”
