As of March 31, 2018, more than $3 billion has been raised toward Texas A&M University’s $4 billion Lead by Example campaign goal.

Last Thursday, Texas A&M University President Michael K. Young announced the university’s ‘Lead by Example’ campaign had reached the $3 billion milestone, leaving just $1 billion left to go in its $4 billion goal. The Texas A&M Foundation said the campaign reached this dollar amount six months ahead of schedule. The announcement was made at the annual A&M Legacy Society Gala, which honors supporters of the university who have donated $100,000 or more to the university. The goal of the campaign is to increase the resources which allow A&M to be recognized as a world class institution, according to the campaign’s website.
