In head football coach Jimbo Fisher’s initial press conference on Dec. 4, Fisher announced that one of his first goals was to get 100,000 fans out to the Aggie spring game.
The A&M football program announced the measures being taken on Friday in order to make Fisher’s goal a success. The most notable change to the game is that there is no admission fee, the gates at Kyle Field will open one hour prior to kickoff.
The program also aims to make the game more competitive by changing the format to that of a regular season game, with no scripting of plays. The teams for the game will be decided by a captains “draft” that will be held one week prior to the game.
After the game is over, fans are invited to come down from the stands to enjoy Kyle Field.
The game is scheduled for 4 p.m. on April 14 at Kyle Field. The game will be televised nationally by the SEC-Network.
