On Tuesday in an interview with Paul Finebaum, Manziel’s former coach, Kevin Sumlin, said that he has been trying to reach Manziel since last seeing him in February at Mike Evans’ wedding but that Manziel has yet to respond.
“What we want is for him to be at peace and be safe,” Sumlin told Finebaum. “That has nothing to do with football and has everything to do with his life. That was my message to him [at the wedding]. That’s the only thing we really care about right now. Where he is as a person is more important than football or anything like that.”
