Texas A&M graduate student forward Rashaun Agee was named to the All-Southeastern Conference Third Team on Monday, March 9.
In a triple-overtime victory over LSU, Agee tied A&M’s single-season record with his 12th double-double, finishing the game with 26 points and 11 rebounds. The regular-season finale marked the USC transfer’s sixth time scoring 20-plus points and 15th time grabbing double-digit rebounds. Agee’s 32 career double-doubles are tied for eighth among active Division 1 players.
In a season that began with lackluster expectations, the Chicago native paced the country’s No. 9 scoring offense, leading the Aggies with 14.7 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Agee ranked second among SEC players with 274 total rebounds, seventh on A&M’s single-season list.
More than an offensive weapon, Agee led the Maroon and White on both ends of the court with 6.2 defensive boards, ranking second in the league.
A&M finished fourth in conference rankings, claiming the No. 6 seed and earning a first-round bye in the SEC Tournament. Agee averaged 16.1 points and 9.3 rebounds in conference play on the way to the Aggies’ fifth straight 20-win season. A&M awaits the winner of 14-seed South Carolina and 11-seed Oklahoma’s contest for its second-round matchup on Thursday, March 12, at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, with tipoff set for 8:30 p.m.
