Texas A&M quarterback Nick Starkel completed 8-of-15 passes for 133 yards and a touchdown Saturday against Mississippi State.

Just hours after A&M’s historic collapse against UCLA in Pasadena, California, Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin announced Monday night in his weekly radio show that two notable A&M players who suffered injuries in Sunday night’s 45-44 loss, would be out for an extended amount of time.
Starting quarterback redshirt freshman Nick Starkel, suffered a fractured ankle and had surgery Monday. Senior defensive Donovan Wilson injured his foot and also had surgery.
According to Sumlin, there is no time table for when both players could return. Sumlin believes that they might not be able to return at all this season.
The Aggies will return to College Station Saturday to host Nicholls State in A&M’s home opener at 6:30 p.m.
