Texas A&M football releases Dave Christensen amid offensive reconstruction

Dave Christensen speaks to media Tuesday

After only one season with the Aggies, Texas A&M football has announced that Dave Christensen will not return to coach for the 2016 season.
Christensen was the offensive line coach and run game coordinator for Texas A&M after he left his offensive coordinator position for the University of Utah.
Under his direction, the Texas A&M offensive line gave up the second most sacks in the SEC with 37, behind only Florida who finished the season giving up 45.
Last season, the Aggies finished eighth in rushing offense in the SEC. Both A&M and LSU finished the season with 505 rushing attempts, but the Tigers outran the Aggies with 3082 rushing yards compared to the Aggies’ 2198.
After the hire of Noel Mazzone as the new Texas A&M offensive coordinator, it was expected that the Aggies would possibly look to find new offensive coaching staff.
