SGA reveals candidates for 2024-25 student body president, Yell Leader, more

Voting for student elections will open on Feb. 29

The Texas A&M Student Government Association Election Commission released the list of candidates running for major positions in the 2024-25 election. Finalized on Feb. 16 by Election Commissioner Jared Ramos, the candidates are as follows:

Major races

Student body president:

Cade Coppinger, finance junior

Ben Crockett, political science junior 

Luke Kohler, finance junior

Ankit Lulla, mechatronics, robotics and automation engineering junior

Val McNeill, industrial distribution junior

Carter J. Ostrom, society, ethics and law junior

 

Senior Yell Leader:

Josiah Brantley, industrial distribution junior*

Jake Carter, finance junior*

Brooke Huff, agricultural communications & journalism junior

Grayson Poage, civil engineering junior*

 

Junior Yell Leader:

Kyler Fife, communication sophomore*

Sawyer Rabalais, communication sophomore

Luke Widener, economics sophomore*

*Denotes candidates running with 5 For Yell

Senior class president:

Hannah Pawlak, chemical engineering junior

The Election Commission will host debate panels for SBP and Yell Leader candidates on Thursday, Feb. 22 from 5:30-8 p.m. in the Memorial Student Center Flag Room. The SBP Debate will take place first, followed by the Yell Leader Panel. Voting will open on Feb. 29 at 9 a.m. and close on March 1 at 12 p.m., followed by the unofficial announcement of results no earlier than 7 p.m. at the 12th Man Statue.
