After his stellar performance against Ole Miss, true freshman defensive back Derrick Tucker was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week.
Tucker had a career game against the Rebels, including a 19-yard interception returned for a touchdown in the second half of the game, which gave A&M its first lead of the game. Tucker also had 14 tackles, a forced fumble and two pass breakups.
With the honor, Tucker becomes the Aggie to be named DPOW this season and the fourth to earn this honor since A&M joined the SEC in 2012.
