Tuesday night as I walked home from a very emotional Silver Taps, I passed by a group of students who were laughing and talking loudly outside of their dorm. To go along with this, many of the lights were on in the hall. Fortunately, I have never lost anyone close to me who has had to be honored, but for those who have, I apologize for the students’ actions outside their dorm. The tradition of Silver Taps is one many Aggies are most fond of, and it is only appropriate for all students to carry it out in the highest respect. May we all turn off lights as we leave our rooms and refrain from talking to and from the ceremony. It is the responsibility for all residence halls to coordinate all the little things that mean so much to so many people.
