With temperatures dropping and leaves falling, senior guard Wade Taylor is already off to a hot start. His stat-sheet stuffing play has garnered him another Preseason All-SEC First Team award, an accolade to his already decorated resume.
The Dallas native has been recognized as part of the end-of-season first team All-SEC spot twice, making him the lone Aggie to do so. He also holds 13 season school records, a bountiful career with SEC Tournament awards to boot.
The Texas A&M men’s basketball team has tied with their highest preseason ranking in school history, coming in at No. 13 in the preseason AP Poll— in large part thanks to Taylor’s consistent play.
The guard ranked as the No. 3 scorer in the SEC while also coming in the top10 in assists, steals, three-pointers, free throws and free throw percentage. He also stands tall as the only Division 1 player to record 500-plus points, 100-plus assists and 60-plus steals in the past two seasons.
As basketball gets underway to kickoff, Taylor will have to prove his preseason award, especially in conference play as nine SEC teams rank in the top-25.
