Gabriel Hall, who was arrested in 2011 for the murder of an A&M professor and injury of his wife, was found guilty of capital murder and subsequently sentenced to death by lethal injection on Wednesday.
The jurors were asked to determine whether or not Hall represented an ongoing threat to the public and whether or not there were any factors that would warrant a life in prison sentence over a death penalty sentence.
The court found that Hall did represent an ongoing threat to the public and decided there were no factors which made life in prison a necessary sentence.
Hall’s sentence will now be sent to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals for review, as all Texas death penalty verdict cases are.
