KANM Student Radio, the student-run broadcasting group on campus, will broadcast a special segment nationwide on Wednesday as part of Student News Live’s marathon coverage, 24 hours of continued coverage featuring student broadcasters from around the nation.
KANM’s segment, airing online from 12 to 12:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, will “feature real perspectives from young voters, local election stories and even a few light-hearted moments,” according to a press release. Planned content includes conversations outside polls and man-on-the-street interviews highlighting topics Aggies prioritize.
“Hosted by two anchors, we’ll blend pre-recorded interviews with live polling updates, bringing a fresh and authentic view on the election from a local angle,” the press release reads. “We’ll also have real-time call-ins, giving student representatives from both major parties a chance to share perspectives in a way that connects directly with young voters.”
The press release notes the plan is supported by the Department of Communication and Journalism, and both groups plan to narrow coverage to local issues, including down-ballot candidates, youth turnout issues and on-campus civic engagement.
The segment can be heard online at Student News Live’s website.
